GTA 6 Map vs GTA Vice City (2002): What Returns, What's New
On this page
Current status
- Last verified: October 16, 2026.
- GTA 6 side: official Rockstar sources only (site, store, screenshots, trailers).
- 2002 side: the original game (franchise history).
- On our map: Vice City place card · Vice City location page · Ocean Beach card.
- Caveat: no official GTA 6 map exists yet. Our interactive map pins are approximate and its base map is unofficial.
Scale: a city vs a state
- 2002: Vice City was the map. It was one city split across two main islands, with smaller islands such as Starfish Island and Prawn Island between them.
- GTA 6 (Confirmed): Vice City is one of six headline destinations in Leonida, alongside the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. Rockstar calls these "a few" highlights, so there's more.
For size numbers against GTA 5 rather than Vice City, see GTA 6 map size.

Renamed or reimagined
- Little Havana → Little Cuba: a similar idea under a new name (Analysis: Rockstar didn't call it a rename).
- Vice Port → VC Port: now "the cruise ship capital of the world."
- Escobar International → VCI Airport: a different name on GTA 6's highway signs.
- New districts with no 2002 counterpart: Southside Vice City, Stockyard, Peacock Bay and the Tisha-Wocka flea market.
What we don't know yet
- Whether GTA 6's Ocean Beach or Washington Beach sit where they did in 2002.
- Whether 2002 places like Starfish Island, Leaf Links or Little Haiti return. None has been named by Rockstar for GTA 6.
- Whether the Vercetti Estate is a place you can visit, or just a story nod.
We'll update this comparison with the real map after launch.
