Current status

  • Last verified: October 16, 2026, against official Rockstar pages only.
  • Official sources checked: Only in Leonida (Mount Kalaga panel), official screenshots and postcard, Ultimate Edition copy.
  • On our map: the GTA6Home map · Mount Kalaga place card · Mount Kalaga pin detail page · Mount Kalaga location page.
  • Pin accuracy: the pin sits at region level and its position is approximate. Rockstar has not published coordinates. The satellite-style base map, roads and place names on /map are unofficial and will be replaced with the real map after launch on November 19, 2026.

What Rockstar says

From the official panel (Confirmed, Only in Leonida):

  • Headline: "Wild, Wild Country."
  • "A national landmark up against the state's northern border."
  • Prime hunting, fishing and off-road trails.
  • In the surrounding backwoods, hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals live far from government eyes.

Ultimate Edition copy for the Dominator buggy also mentions tearing through the "backwoods of Mount Kalaga and beyond" (Confirmed on the Rockstar Store). That backs up off-roading as the point of the place.

Why it matters for the map

Most Leonida regions have no official direction attached. Mount Kalaga is the exception, because Rockstar's own words put it on the northern border. That makes it the most reliable anchor on any pre-launch map (Confirmed direction, approximate position).

It also tells you something about scale. If a national park with hills is at the top of the map and the Keys trail off the bottom, Leonida runs a long way north to south. For how that compares with Los Santos, see GTA 6 map size and GTA 6 map vs GTA 5.

Where Mount Kalaga is on our map

Our Mount Kalaga pin sits near the northern edge of the state. That's the one part of the placement that comes straight from Rockstar. Everything else is still unofficial: where along the border it sits, how big the park is, and the trails or roads drawn around it on the base map. Expect the pin to move after November 19.

Mount Kalaga's card is also linked from Watson Bay. The Dominator copy mentions both, but it doesn't say they're near each other.

What to expect (Analysis)

From the official text (Analysis): hunting and fishing as activities, off-road vehicles as the way to get around, and eccentric backwoods characters. Rockstar called them "hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals," which sounds like side-content fodder. Florida has no real mountains, so expect Rockstar to stretch geography here the way GTA 5 did with Mount Chiliad.
