GTA 6 Grassrivers: Leonida's Wetlands, Explained

The official panel (Confirmed, Only in Leonida):

• Headline: "Welcome to the Wetlands."
• Rockstar calls Grassrivers the untamable jewel of Leonida's crown, a primordial expanse where you never know what lies beneath.
• The gators may be the famous attraction, but the copy warns that deadlier predators and weirder discoveries hide among the mangroves.

That last line is deliberately vague. "Weirder discoveries" reads like a nod to the oddities and secrets Rockstar likes to hide in wild areas. That's Analysis. Rockstar hasn't said what they are.

Official screenshots tagged to Grassrivers show (Confirmed as images, details are our reading):

• Airboats skimming across open water and sawgrass.
• Hunting scenes in the wetlands.
• Dense mangrove edges and wide, flat horizons with almost no buildings.

Together with the "Welcome to the Wetlands" panel, that points to Grassrivers being the map's big wilderness on water. Mount Kalaga is the dry-land counterpart (see our Mount Kalaga guide). For the animals themselves, see GTA 6 animals and wildlife.

Leonida mirrors Florida, and Florida's Everglades fill the south of the peninsula inland from Miami. Our Grassrivers pin sits in that general area, but Rockstar has never said where Grassrivers is relative to Vice City. The pin is region-level and approximate.

The water channels, roads and labels drawn around it on the satellite-style base map are unofficial and clearly labeled. Don't plan a route from them. Once the game launches on November 19 we'll swap in the real map and re-pin Grassrivers from in-game evidence.

Reading the official material together (Analysis): expect airboats to be the natural way to get around, hunting to show up as an activity (the screenshots show it), and the wildlife itself to be a hazard. Rockstar's copy talks about predators, plural, and says gators aren't even the deadliest. We'll update this with confirmed activities after launch.

Grassrivers is confirmed as Leonida's wetland wilderness, with airboats, hunting and gators. Where exactly it sits is still an estimate. Open the location card or the map, and compare it with the other five regions in Only in Leonida.
