Where Are the Leonida Keys in GTA 6? The Archipelago on the Map

Current status
- Last verified: October 16, 2026, against official Rockstar pages only.
- Official sources checked: Only in Leonida (Keys panel), Jason and Brian bios, official screenshots.
- On our map: the GTA6Home map · Leonida Keys place card · Leonida Keys pin detail page · Leonida Keys location page.
- Pin accuracy: the pin sits at region level and its position is approximate. Rockstar has not published coordinates. The satellite-style base map, roads and place names on /map are unofficial and will be replaced with the real map after launch on November 19, 2026.
What Rockstar has said about the Keys
Rockstar's Keys panel on Only in Leonida is short but specific (Confirmed):
- The headline is "Gateway to Paradise."
- The copy describes a laid-back island chain where the dress code is casual and the bars are well stocked. Life there isn't flashy, but it's easy.
- The twist: you're sitting on the doorstep of some of America's most beautiful and most dangerous waters.
The character bios add story weight (Confirmed). Jason's bio places his smuggling work in the Keys, and Brian Heder's bio describes his "golden age of smuggling in the Keys", saying he is "still moving product through his boat yard". That makes the Keys more than scenery. It's where the game's early criminal economy appears to start. See our Jason guide for the full bio.
What the official images show
Official screenshots tagged to the Keys show shallow turquoise water, small marinas and low-rise island buildings (Confirmed images). What they don't show is how many islands there are or how they connect. Any island count you see online didn't come from Rockstar.
Brian Heder's boat yard comes from his bio, not from footage. It's pinned in the Keys as Likely because the bio ties it to the Keys without giving an address. See the Brian Heder boat yard card.
Where the Keys sit on our map
The real-world model is obvious: Leonida is Rockstar's take on Florida (see what city GTA 6 is based on), and the Florida Keys trail south-west off the peninsula. Our map pin follows that shape, but treat it as a region marker, not a spot:
- The pin says "the Keys are down here," not "this exact island."
- The coastline and causeway on the satellite-style base map are an unofficial reconstruction, labeled that way on the map.
- Once the game is out on November 19, we'll replace the base map and move pins to verified positions.
If you want to share the Keys with someone, the place card on /map has a share link that opens straight to it.
What to expect when you get there (Analysis)
Putting the official pieces together (Analysis, not confirmed gameplay): boats should matter more here than anywhere else in Leonida, given a smuggler's marina, "dangerous waters" and an island chain. Expect fishing, boating and water-based crime to cluster around the Keys. We'll confirm specifics after launch rather than guess at activities Rockstar hasn't named.
Confirmed vs rumored: the Leonida Keys
| Claim | Status |
|---|---|
| The Leonida Keys are a region of the map | Confirmed (Only in Leonida) |
| Tagline "Gateway to Paradise" | Confirmed |
| Jason smuggled in the Keys | Confirmed (Jason bio) |
| Brian's boat yard is in the Keys | Likely: bio context, no address |
| A specific number of islands | Not confirmed: no official figure |
| Exact position on our map | Approximate: region-level pin |
The bottom line
The Keys are confirmed as Leonida's island chain and Jason's smuggling ground. Their outline on any pre-launch map, ours included, is an estimate. Start from the Only in Leonida region guide, then open the Keys card.
