- "During the pre-sale period, purchases of PlayStation gift cards on G2A.COM reached record levels."
- "When Rockstar Games' pre-orders opened, traffic to GTA VI offer pages increased 65-fold."
- "GTA VI became G2A.COM's most wishlisted offer in 45 countries, including the UK and US, and ranked in the top 10 overall in 46 countries."
- "Just over half of surveyed users plan to start playing within the first 24 hours."

How key marketplaces work
Analysis:
- Sites like G2A are marketplaces. Independent sellers list codes and gift cards, and the site takes a cut. That's different from buying from Sony, Microsoft or Rockstar directly.
- Gift cards (PlayStation Store or Xbox credit) are the simplest thing to buy there, because you then buy GTA 6 in the official store. That's what G2A says spiked.
- Game keys are riskier. A key bought from a third party can be for the wrong region, already used, or later revoked if it was obtained improperly.
- Pre-order bonuses depend on how and when you buy. The free GTA+ month needs a digital pre-order before November 20 in eligible stores. See our GTA+ month guide.
A safety checklist before you buy
Analysis:
- Match the region. PlayStation and Xbox credit is tied to your account's country.
- Check the platform. GTA 6 is on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. There is no PC version to buy. Any "GTA 6 PC key" is a scam. See our PC pre-order guide.
- Avoid "early access" or "pre-release" codes. They don't exist. See our early download scams guide.
- Use buyer protection and pay with a method that allows disputes.
- Compare the saving. A few dollars off isn't worth a revoked code or a lost bonus.
Confirmed vs rumored: GTA 6 key sites
| Claim | Status |
|---|---|
| Official sellers: PS Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Store, retailers | Confirmed (Take-Two) |
| GTA 6 most wishlisted on G2A in 45 countries | Reported (G2A's own data) |
| 65-fold traffic jump at pre-order launch | Reported (G2A's own data) |
| Record PlayStation gift card sales on G2A | Reported (G2A) |
| Official Rockstar deal with key marketplaces | None announced |
| GTA 6 PC keys | Don't exist, no PC version announced |
The bottom line
If you use a key site, buy store credit, not a game key, and never anything labelled PC or early access. The simplest and safest route is still an official store.

Frequently asked questions
- Can I buy GTA 6 on G2A?
- G2A is a marketplace where third-party sellers list codes and gift cards. The safest option there is store credit, which you then use in the official PlayStation or Xbox store.
- Is GTA 6 cheaper on key sites?
- Sometimes slightly, but third-party keys can be region-locked, used or revoked, and you may lose pre-order bonuses.
- Where can I officially buy GTA 6?
- Take-Two lists the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Store and global retailers.
- Are GTA 6 PC keys real?
- No. GTA 6 hasn't been announced for PC, so any PC key is a scam.
