On this page
Current status
- Current status: The trailer is live on Xbox Wire and Xbox's channels.
- Last verified: October 26, 2026.
- Official sources checked: Xbox Wire post (October 23, 2026); Rockstar's launch trailer.
- What is confirmed: GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S.
- What is not confirmed yet: why Xbox waited. Neither Microsoft nor Rockstar has explained.
What's different between the versions
Reported (OpenCritic, TheGamer): PlayStation's upload had a custom PlayStation-branded outro. Xbox's uses a standard Xbox Series X|S end card.
Reported (TheGamer): there were no Xbox logos at all in the launch trailer, and almost every ad pitches the PS5 Pro as the best place to play. TheGamer also reports the Xbox upload had about 2.5 million views against 65 million for PlayStation's.
Reported (TheGamer): Sony and Rockstar have a marketing deal for GTA 6, which TheGamer calls "hardly a secret". The report doesn't give the deal's terms.
Analysis: a co-marketing deal affects ads, not whether the game works on Xbox. For what's in the trailer itself, see GTA 6 launch trailer.
What Xbox owners should know
Confirmed: GTA 6 is on Xbox Series X and Series S at launch. It isn't on Xbox One or PC at launch.
Reported: it isn't on Game Pass. See Is GTA 6 on Game Pass?.
Performance details are in GTA 6 on Xbox Series X: FPS and Xbox Series S FPS.
