What the GamesBeat report says
Reported. On October 13, 2026, GamesBeat reported that Rockstar plans to release GTA 6 on PC "in the first quarter of 2027," according to "four industry sources familiar with the studio's plans." GamesBeat says a Rockstar representative did not respond before publication.
The report was picked up widely, each outlet noting it is unconfirmed: TechRadar, heise online and TweakTown.
Analysis: four independent sources is a stronger basis than a typical leak, but plans can change — Rockstar has moved the console date twice.
Xbox Cloud Gaming: not a PC loophole
Confirmed by Xbox. The Verge reported Microsoft had secured GTA 6 streaming rights and first described the deal as exclusive, then corrected that. Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball posted: "We are looking forward to launching GTAVI on XBOX November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC" (also reported by Dexerto).
Unclear: exactly how console streaming will work and how long the deal lasts. For subscription questions see Is GTA 6 on Game Pass?.
Why a faster port is plausible
Analysis. GTA V's PC version arrived roughly 19 months after consoles (per TweakTown). A Q1 2027 port would cut that to about four months. Reasons outlets cite:
- Take-Two has repeatedly stressed PC's growing importance (Reported, via TweakTown).
- Q1 2027 falls in Take-Two's fiscal year ending March 31, 2027 (per heise).
- Fan theory only: pressure from PS5-to-PC projects and leaks — see our AnyPS5 fact-check. No source confirms this motive.

| Claim | Status |
|---|---|

The bottom line
PC players: plan for early 2027 at the soonest, and treat that as a report until Rockstar says otherwise. If you want to play on day one, it's a console. Check PC requirements expectations while you wait.
