How to Use the GTA 6 Interactive Map (Pre-Launch Edition)

- What the map is: a pre-launch map built only from official Rockstar sources for its pins.
- Counts: 17 pinned locations, 1 statewide entry (Leonida itself) and 20 Unassigned places, for 38 total.
- What it isn't: Rockstar's map. The satellite-style base map, highways, roads and place names are an unofficial reconstruction, labeled that way on the map, and they will be replaced after November 19.
1. Search and browse
- Search panel: on desktop, the panel on the left lets you search for a district, island or location by name. On phones, it's a bottom sheet you swipe up.
- Browse all 38: the "Browse all 38 locations" link opens the full locations index, with each place's evidence and confidence.
- Unassigned list: places Rockstar has named without saying which region they're in (for example Leonida Penitentiary or Stockyard) appear in their own list instead of getting a guessed pin. They get pinned once Rockstar confirms a region.
2. Turn layers on and off
The layers button toggles two overlays:
- Highways & Roads
- Geographic Locations (place names)
Your choice is remembered next time. If you only care about the confirmed pins, switch both layers off. What's left is the official-source content on top of the satellite-style backdrop. That's the most honest view of what Rockstar has actually confirmed.
3. Open place cards and share them
Click a pin, road, route shield or place name to open its place card. Cards show the name, category, region and confidence label, with a link to the full location page.
Every place card has a shareable link, so you can send a friend straight to, say, the Leonida Keys or VC Port. Use full screen for a map-only view.
4. Read the key: confidence labels
The key explains pin styles, road styles and name styles. The confidence labels mean:

In our guides we also use Shown in trailer for things like highway signs, and Reported for credible press quoting Rockstar.
5. What 'approximate' really means
This is the most important part. A pin's position is approximate. Rockstar hasn't published a map or coordinates, so a pin answers "which region is this in?" and not "where exactly is it?" Don't use pin spacing to judge distances, and don't treat the base map's coastline or roads as fact. - No. It's a pre-launch fan map. Pins come only from official Rockstar sources, but the base map, roads and names are unofficial until the real map is out.

- Can I share a location?
