What coverage says Rockstar confirmed
Confirmed / Reported (Kotaku, citing Dazed):
- Both Jason's and Lucia's bodies change based on what the player does and eats.
- Eating too much puts on weight; working out sheds pounds and builds muscle tone.
- Skipping sleep, long police chases, or "multi-day benders" also change their faces and bodies. Kotaku compares this to Red Dead Redemption 2's lingering bruises and beard growth.
- Kotaku notes Jason is seen working out in Trailer 2.
Confirmed on screen (WIRED):
- "Eating too much or too little food affects their weight. Working out can make them swole."
- The Extended Look showed characters eating and working out in minigames.
Rob Nelson (Rockstar North), quoted by Kotaku: "We look back at our previous games with a critical eye … A lot of what we do is very iterative."
San Andreas vs GTA 6
Analysis, built on the sourced points above:
| Game | Body system | Source |
|---|---|---|
| San Andreas (2004) | Weight and muscle from diet and gym | Kotaku and WIRED both reference it |
| GTA V | A smaller version of body reactivity | WIRED: "in a smaller way in GTA V" |
| RDR2 | Lingering bruises, beard growth | Kotaku's comparison |
| GTA 6 | Food, gym, sleep and stress all show | Dazed via Kotaku; WIRED |
We don't know yet whether GTA 6 shows a San Andreas-style meter. Rockstar hasn't shown the UI for it.
Tied systems Rockstar simplified
Food stays, but grocery chores don't. Nelson described cutting a fridge restock system (GamesRadar). Full story: fridge system cut.
