Those GTA 6 Cars Filming in Miami: The 'Miami Heat - Vice' Shoot

On this page
Current status
- Current status: Filming took place October 19 to 20, per the permit and fan videos. No finished commercial yet.
- Last verified: October 21, 2026.
- Sources checked: GTAVice.net (iGrandTheftAuto's permit find), gtanews.fr, RockstarINTEL.
- What is confirmed: the Rockstar and Miami Heat partnership, and the November 18 "A Night in Vice City" game.
- What is not confirmed yet: that this shoot is for Rockstar or the Heat campaign, and that the cars filmed are the same six seen in the October 15 to 16 convoy.
What the permits say
Reported (GTAVice.net):
| Detail | "Miami Heat - Vice" permit | Earlier "Vice" permit |
|---|---|---|
| Production company | 305 Films, LLC | 305 Films, LLC |
| Type | Commercial | Commercial |
| Dates | October 19 to 20 (rain date October 21) | October 5 to 7 |
| Locations | Ocean Drive, outside The Avalon and Beacon Hotel | Ocean Drive, Lummus Park, Muscle Beach |
| Kit | Six picture vehicles, two vans, camera car with U-crane | Small B-roll crew |
| Estimated budget | $100,000 | $75,000 |
GTAVice.net also reports a night sequence on October 19 focused on a car's taillights heading south on Ocean Drive.
The GTA 6-style cars
Reported: between October 15 and 16, a convoy of real cars styled as GTA 6's Manana, Buccaneer, Tempesta, Cheetah, Coquette D10 and Emerus drove around Miami with fictional Leonida plates, joined by a Vice Beach Police-style Lamborghini (GTAVice.net). We covered the first sightings in our Miami cars guide.
Not confirmed: some reports credit West Coast Customs with building them. Neither the shop nor Rockstar has said so.
Why it's probably not a live-action trailer
Analysis:
- The permit names the Miami Heat, not Rockstar, and 305 Films has made Heat videos before. GTAVice.net says director Gil Green has worked on past Heat projects.
- gtanews.fr, citing RockstarINTEL, says the past week's Miami filming permits don't include Rockstar Games.
- RockstarINTEL notes live-action trailers are "not something Rockstar do for their games."
- The Vice Beach sites, Lummus Park and Muscle Beach, are where the earlier "Vice" B-roll was shot, which ties the work to the wider campaign.
Confirmed vs rumored: the Miami shoot
| Claim | Status |
|---|---|
| 305 Films filed "Miami Heat - Vice" commercial permits | Reported (permits, per iGTA) |
| Shoot happened October 19 to 20 | Reported (permit plus fan videos) |
| Tied to the Heat's A Night in Vice City | Analysis (strong, but not stated in the permit) |
| Rockstar is filming a live-action GTA 6 trailer | Rumor, not supported by the permits |
| West Coast Customs built the cars | Unconfirmed |
The bottom line
The Miami filming looks like a Heat promo for November 18, not a new GTA 6 trailer. Expect the result on social media, likely close to the game. We'll update when it's published.
